B I O G R A P H Y

From editing to shooting to directing, Dalton Lai is an unapologetic jack-of-all-trades; who is always striving to further master his versatile and authentic storytelling craft.

He grew up as a sort of ‘rotten banana’ in Dayton, OH; only to find his true calling as a filmmaker while at NYU, then finding himself in Shanghai to further refine his skillset (& mother tongue)… a journey that has taken him all over the world: from practically every corner of China to Southeast Asia, from Australia to Europe to back to the US.

Whether it be in film/tv, documentary, advertising, or music videos, Dalton’s core concepts always remain the same: with creative and authentic storytelling at the forefront in all his endeavors.

Dalton is a native English speaker with fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
